On Tuesday, 25th March 2025, beneath the vaulted ceilings of Drapers’ Hall—a beacon of London’s mercantile legacy—I stood humbled and inspired as I was clothed as a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs. This ceremony, rooted in centuries of tradition, was not merely a personal accolade but a clarion call to bridge heritage with the audacity of modern enterprise.
Where Legacy Meets Vision
The ritual of robing in City morning dress, the precision of timings, and the echoing footsteps across Drapers’ Hall’s marble floors are more than tradition—they are reminders that excellence endures. For me, this moment crystallised a truth I’ve championed throughout my career: progress is built on the shoulders of those who dare to honour the past while inventing the future.
As I exchanged the Liveryman’s oath with peers and mentors, I reflected on the parallels between this ancient institution and the work we drive at Oclas Consulting. The Company’s ethos—mentoring rising talent, fostering civic responsibility, and celebrating ethical entrepreneurship—mirrors our own mission to equip leaders with the courage and clarity to transform complexity into opportunity.
Entrepreneurship as a Force for Good
For over 20 years, I’ve led teams through transformative programmes in sectors as varied as energy, infrastructure, and government. But entrepreneurship, in its purest form, has never been about profit alone. It is about vision that outlasts trends, courage that defies inertia, and accountability that uplifts communities.
The Livery ceremony reaffirmed this conviction. Just as the Worshipful Company has shaped London’s commercial landscape since medieval times, Oclas exists to empower leaders who refuse to accept “good enough.” Whether modernizing aging systems, embedding ESG principles at scale, or rebuilding trust in institutions, we don’t just advise—we partner. We walk alongside leaders to:
Unlock potential in teams and systems,
Embed purpose into every strategic decision,
Turn bold visions into measurable impact.
A Privilege, A Promise
To become a Liveryman is to accept both privilege and responsibility. It is a pledge to steward the future with the wisdom of the past. At Oclas, this translates to relentless service—not just to clients, but to the broader ecosystems they influence.
The challenges of our era—digital disruption, climate urgency, geopolitical shifts—demand more than transactional solutions. They require advisors who listen deeply, act boldly, and remain accountable long after the contract is signed. This is the standard we uphold.
An Invitation to Build Fearlessly
As the champagne reception closed and the robes were returned, I left Drapers’ Hall with renewed resolve. To every leader reading this: if you are navigating upheaval, scaling innovation, or redefining what’s possible in your industry, let’s collaborate.
At Oclas Consulting, we don’t just respect tradition—we reimagine it. Together, we can:
