On Thursday, 13th November 2024, our Founder and Strategic Advisor, Sheyi Lisk-Carew, had the privilege of attending a remarkable industry visit to Rolls-Royce’s prestigious Filton facility in Bristol. This event, organised by the Worshipful Company of Fuellers in collaboration with the Worshipful Company of Carmen and the Armed Forces’ Sustainable Energy Alliance (AFSEA), brought together leaders, innovators, and strategists to explore Rolls-Royce’s latest advancements in sustainable aviation and energy solutions. It was a profound opportunity to gain insights into the technologies shaping the future of energy and aviation—a vision that aligns closely with Oclas Group’s commitment to strategic advisory and sustainable innovation.

Rolls-Royce: A Legacy of Innovation and Forward Thinking

Rolls-Royce has long been a symbol of engineering excellence and pioneering spirit, and their Filton facility embodies this legacy. From the outset, attendees were introduced to the company’s comprehensive history, followed by a tour of the cutting-edge manufacturing, assembly, and testing facilities. Rolls-Royce’s commitment to innovation is evident in their forward-looking approach, which spans from small modular reactors (SMRs) and sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) to hydrogen technology and electrification.

For Oclas Consulting, it was an ideal environment to see how a world-class organisation integrates sustainability with growth—a core value we advocate for in our own advisory services. We know that today’s industries must not only meet the demands of profitability but must do so with a clear strategy towards sustainability and resilience. Rolls-Royce’s work reflects this balance, demonstrating that it’s possible to drive both technological innovation and responsible energy use.
